I’m confused more by the comments here than by John’s poetry. His poetry may have taken me some time and effort to ‘get at’, but what of real value doesn’t? There’s a garden behind a house over at the university which is so inviting to walk into, but once inside there’s a riot of things to consider. You can enjoy the sunlight or clouds, the flowers, or think about their loss. There’s always a number of possibilities to consider, or not consider.
