Hi-rise View–Winter in Chicago

Here I sit before a computer,
my own reflection mirrored on the monitor.
It is below freezing outside.
Inside, the sun is merciless between 11 and 3,
beating on the bare, floor to ceiling windows.
I take off my shirt
and work topless, wonder if there is someone
in the hi-rise next door with a telescope.
If there is, I don’t care. I want to go back
to California in January with a sunburn.
And I think my breasts are superb.
“Take a good look,” I say,
as I lean back and stretch my arms…
