I do not trust translations for the same reason I do not fully appreciate a cat telling me what a rabbit just said. That said, I consider the poem a perfect companion to the painting, and I savored both. Nice going!
I really loved every word of it; one of the things I like best about her is her sense of humor, and translated or not, I believe it rings true! Thanks so much for including all that in your posting . You should remember to use some of those good critiques on us, your hapless students….I have two of her books – both translated by Baranczak and Cavanaugh, and I’ve got to believe she thought they did a good job of translation.

Tis thought he used and early version of a camera to catch this image on the canvas. Dali recommended this one highly…a fav of mine.
