Great that Norbert's woman friend prodded him to include more women poets on this site, but he has always championed both women writers and women poets through the years. England's new poet laureate, Carol Ann Duffy, is amazing! I really like her poems. They bristle with life, and joy and wit in the midst of challenges and bruises. No suicidal leanings here. She pours the cup to the full, quaffs it down with relish, ready to take on all comers.

Ah....do I feel the rumble of tectonic plates shifting across the pond? Carol Ann IS a wonderful addition to the gallery of testosterone wordsmiths...but the question to ask is..why do we/they need a poet laureate anyway? Thanks for featuring the flurry of feminine lunch...yum!
