RE: Verlyn Klinkenborg.

I rediscovered three newspaper clippings that hang from a red clip on the wall by my desk. They are there for a spiritual and intellectual lift when I need one, and have hung there so long that I scarcely see them until I need them. All three are by Verlyn Klinkenborg. (Caught in a Still Life, Swallow In the Hand, Missing the 'If Only Train") After reading them again today, wishing I could share them with distant children, imagining their expressions as they read them, I finally thought to say "Thanks you!" both to The Times and to Mr. Klinkenborg. You are right that his writing is an perfect example of the reason we need great newspapers.
