News Poems
“It is difficult to get the news from poems yet men die miserably every day for lack of what is found there.” ~ William Carlos Williams (1883-1963) …
My Goodness He Said by Donald H. Rumsfeld
“My goodness,”
he said.
First of all, it’s true.
There is sectarian conflict in Iraq,
and there is loss of life.
My goodness.
And it’s an unfortunate
and tragic thing
that’s taking place…
And they are the people
who are blowing up buildings
and killing innocent men,
women and children, and
taking off the heads of people
on television. And the idea of
their prevailing is unacceptable.
My goodness…
